Our Foodie Christmas List
It’s coming up to Christmas and if you need a few ideas for the foodies in your life or you need to drop some serious hints to people buying for you, take a look at our Christmas list – some of the things we’ve found this year from stocking fillers to major items and some you can get from our own shop here at the school.
Stocking Fillers and Bigger Pressies – just click on the links for more info and shopping
These seaweed seasonings from Seaspoon are made from seaweed harvested from the south Devon coast, dried and ground to make these great additions to your cooking, Full of natural minerals and vitamins, we love adding them to all our cooking instead of salt.
If you’ve been on one of our fish courses, you’ll have seen our fabulous fish scaler. David picked it up in a junk shop and they aren’t easy to find but crucial for getting scales off fish like sea bass and sea bream, even salmon. This one from Sous Chef is heavy duty cast iron and should last a life time.
We can’t start cooking without wearing an apron – it just signals that you’re ready for action and you’re pretty much protected whatever happens. We love our 100% navy cotton aprons with our logo embroidered by our friends at Ravenspring in Totnes and we’re sure you’ll love them too.
Also essential for the breadmakers in your life are our dough scrapers – excellent for mixing doughs however wet as well as picking up proving balls of doughy loveliness and scraping the table clean after the baking’s done. Perfect stocking fillers!
A lovely cake mix from Frankly Keto Cakes – perfect if you’re keeping to low carbs but still want something sweet.
Something spicey from our friends at the South Devon Chilli Farm
A make your own knife course – David did this and not only have a great 2 days on the course but came back with a knife he uses all the time.
And if you’re thinking 2020 is the year to start wood fired cooking, how about one of our wood fired starter kits? With gauntlets, firelighters, our first Wood Fired Oven Cook Book, a pair of dough scrapers and a thermometer to test your food temperatures, you’re ready to start your wood fired adventures. Lots more wood fired equipment in our shop if you’re further down the line.
If you can’t think of what to get that foodie who has everything, treat them to one of our gift vouchers either for a specific course or an open voucher which lasts a year and they can choose the course and date to suit their diary.
We hope that gives you a few ideas for Christmas presents for yourself and your loved ones – whatever you end up with, have a fabulous festive break
Happy cooking!
David and Holly
